FIRST TEAM || Aleksander Markaj, Mulongecha Machochi, William Smithson and Henry Heaney confirmed for season 2022

Eastern United FC is delighted to announce the re-signing of Aleksander Markaj, Mulongecha Machochi, William Smithson and Henry Heaney for the upcoming season.

Aleksander Markaj, 29, started playing football from the age of 6 and never stopped since then, he came at the club in round 3 from West Torrens Birkalla.
In 2016, he played for Vipers FC a year later he joined Adelaide Victory FC where he stayed until the 2018 season.
In 2019, he moved to play in Tasmania for the NPL side Hobart Zebras FC, the team finished 3rd just behind local powerhouse clubs Davenport Strikers FC and South Hobart FC.
In 2020, he moved to play for Fulham United FC and Noarlunga United FC.
Markaj made 16 appearances for the club and was a key player in avoiding relegation in 2021.

Mulongecha Machochi, 23, started to play football for Salisbury United FC at the age of 9.
In 2018, he moved to Adelaide Victory FC to seek first team opportunities and he found it straight away; In round 1, he made his senior debut against Adelaide Cobras in State League 2. In the same year, he achieved promotion with the team and stayed at the club until 2021, when he decided to move to the Saints.
Machochi is the only player to have started every match for the Saints in 2021 (a total of 22).

William Smithson, 21, he started his football at the age of 7 with Adelaide City FC and played for various clubs at the youth level.
In 2020, he started to play for the reserve team of  Adelaide University FC in SL2 and caught the eye of Technical Director Diego Pellegrini who convinced him to come to the club in 2021.
In 2021, he made his first team debut in round 1 against Adelaide Victory FC and was present in the Saints team sheet 16 times this season.

Henry Heaney, 18, he started his football in 2015 at Eastern United just at the age of 12.
He made his first team debut in 2020 against Gawler in round 9.
Heaney has a similar football story like his friend Ellul, they both started playing football together, they both won the Reserve Grand Final together in 2020 and they both made their first team debut in 2020.
Heaney is has been part of the Eastern United FC Academy since 2017 and so far he has made 14 appearances for the Saints.
